In Memory of our Mom, Isabelle Connors

Isabelle “Izzy” Connors, RN, passed away on January 9, 2025. Her children Kristin, Andy, and Bill already miss her greatly, as do her grandchildren, children’s partners, nephews, extended family, and friends. And, it should be noted, so do the many caregivers and other staff members at her assisted living facility who so lovingly helped care for her the past two years, for which the family will be forever grateful.

Isabelle grew up in Philadelphia and received her degree in nursing from Temple University. She was married to CMSgt Thomas Connors for 48 years until his passing in 2012. Isabelle and Tom are survived by their three children, Kristin, Andy, and Bill, and their three grandchildren, Melissa, Caroline, and Christopher. Isabelle was a loving mother to Bill’s partner Jeff and Andy’s partner Tammy as well.

After staying home for many years to raise her children and support her husband’s military service (including living in Japan for five years), Isabelle began working in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, as a registered nurse in the late 1970s. Isabelle touched countless lives during her time in the NICU, where she worked as a nurse, Assistant Head Nurse, and Nurse Manager until she retired. Her dedication to, and love for, the babies in her care…some as small as one pound…was evident to all. Isabelle was a woman of faith and enjoyed being active in church throughout her life. She also enjoyed volunteering, traveling with Tom (Hawaii was a favorite destination), and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Isabelle gave without hesitation and loved without reserve, and she will be dearly missed by so many but most of all by her children who were honored and blessed to call her “Mom.”

Mom peacefully passed away in her apartment at her assisted living facility in Folsom, CA, near the homes of Andy and Bill. No viewing or services are planned in Folsom or Utah. An obituary is available at https://www.pricefuneralchapel.com/obituary/Isabelle-Connors where you can include your memories and pictures of Mom. If you wish to share your thoughts directly with the family, you can email them to connorsisabelle@hotmail.com

Mom will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with Dad in February or March based on the cemetery’s schedule. All are welcome, but no one should feel obligated to make the long and expensive trip for what will be a short and simple graveside funeral service, as she wanted. Should you wish more information about the service, either keep an eye on this page or let Bill know by text or call to 415.377.9197.

In lieu of flowers, the children request donations to the Intermountain Foundation restricted to the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) of McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. We feel gifts to benefit this unit will honor Mom’s love, kindness, hard work, intelligence, and commitment to the lives of others. Thank you.

If you itemize, gifts are tax-deductible as the foundation is a 501(c)3 organization. The foundation has informed us that 100% of your donation will go the NICU, the foundation does not keep any percentage of gifts.

Thank you. Give someone you love a hug and kiss to celebrate the love that Mom shared with all of us. We will miss her more than our words can ever say.

“We are so fortunate to have you as a resource, and I’m really glad that you were able to be part of our project team. I really think there’s no way we’d have been as successful in completing these conversions and implementing RE NXT had it not been for you.

“Your genuine interest in wanting to understand our organization, along with your guidance, wisdom, expertise, and patience were vital to our project being a success. I most appreciate how you truly became part of our team; helping us get into all the nitty-gritty details that we needed to address in order to strategically set up and effectively utilize our new database for long-term success.

“I think it’s rare to find a consultant who really cares as much as you do about the long-term success of the organizations you are helping. I’m so confident in how our database has been configured and in our staff’s ability to effectively use it.

“I’m certain I would not have this level of confidence, especially in my own abilities as database manager, had our conversion and implementation assistance been limited solely to that of Blackbaud’s trainings and resources. I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done to help us. Seriously, anyone doing a database conversion needs to have you on their team.

“There’s so much to learn in RE NXT and the numerous tips and insights you were able to give us that we didn’t get from trainings are why I know our database is set up so well. I really don’t know how we could have done it without you.”
